In 2011, The Cultural & Heritage Tourism Alliance joined with the US Cultural and Heritage Tourism Marketing Council, Shop America Alliance and the California Travel and Tourism Commission to produce a new joint conference called The ONE Conference, held in Pasadena, California January 16-18, 2011. Shopping, dining and cultural & heritage travel are consistently ranked as the top three travel activities in the USA, according to data tracked by the U.S. Department of Commerce/Office of Travel & Tourism Industries (OTTI) and the U.S. Travel Association. With the recent passage of the Travel Promotion Act, growth in international inbound travel, and the ongoing economic recovery fueling domestic travel, the conference is focused on addressing new opportunities for business development and successful tourism promotion. The ONE Travel Conference unifies the constituents of these powerful travel industry segments so we can network and explore best practices with each other, and speak with ONE voice on the importance of promoting top these top travel experiences in cultural & heritage tourism, shopping and dining.
